Dimensions: Approximately 5.5 cm (H) x 4 cm (W)
Wheel-thrown in a rich iron stoneware, this pot was reduction-fired for fourteen hours to 1290ºC in my self-built gas kiln. The glaze is made from ground granite, whose naturally occurring iron traces produce a pale olive-green colour, while iron flecks in the clay body create a soft freckled effect. The faceted surface encourages the glaze to pool and break along the edges.
Fired hot enough to fully vitrify, the clay body is now completely watertight. While highly durable, the edges can still chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.
Each piece is unique, celebrating the charm of handmade ceramics. Slight variations may occur between pieces; each piece has been photographed individually on this shop.
