Faceted Bud Vase in Satin Ash

£24.00
sold out

Dimensions: Approximately 8.5 cm (H) x 6 cm (W)

Wheel-thrown in a rich iron stoneware, this pot was reduction-fired for fourteen hours to 1290ºC in my self-built gas kiln. Its satin finish comes from a wood-ash glaze whose colour naturally varies with the melt. The glaze breaks and pools across the faceted surface, showing deeper blue tones where it gathers into glass and a soft satin yellow-green on the lighter areas, where iron flecks in the clay body create a freckled effect.

Fired hot enough to fully vitrify, the clay body is now completely watertight. While highly durable, the edges can still chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.

Each piece is unique, celebrating the charm of handmade ceramics. Slight variations may occur between pieces; each piece has been photographed individually on this shop.
