Wheel-thrown in a rich iron stoneware, this pot was reduction-fired for fourteen hours to 1290ºC in my self-built gas kiln. Glazed with a red shino, its surface is decorated with finger marks that record the glazing process and show the expressive qualities of shinos, from bold reds where the glaze is thinnest to soft whites where its thicker.
This pasta bowl is food and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its finish. While durable, the edges can chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.
