Each piece is reduction-fired for twelve hours in a gas kiln that I built this year.
This handmade, wheel-thrown paddled vase has a shino glaze, with a black freckling, which variations reflect the firing process and soda ash content in the glaze.
The vase is food and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its finish. Made with white stoneware clay and shino glaze. While durable, the edges can chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.
