Fluted Tea Bowl in Jun

£80.00

Dimensions: Approximately 9 cm (H) x 8.5 cm (W)

These hold approximately 290ml

Wheel-thrown in a white stoneware, this pot was reduction-fired for fourteen hours to 1290ºC in my self-built gas kiln. The pale blue jun glaze is a traditional Chinese glaze which uses low traces of iron and on this case, phosfte pentoxide sourced from cattle bones made into bone ash. The fluted texture enhances the character of the glaze, by allowing it to pool or break in hthe edges.

The tea bowl is food and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its finish. Over time it may develop natural staining from beverages like tea or coffee. While durable, the edges can chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.

Each piece is unique, celebrating the charm of handmade ceramics. Slight variations may occur between pieces; each piece has been photographed individually on this shop.
