Dimensions: Approximately 9 cm (H) x 8.5 cm (W)
These hold approximately 290ml
Wheel-thrown in a white stoneware, this pot was reduction-fired for fourteen hours to 1290ºC in my self-built gas kiln. Its satin finish comes from a wood-ash glaze whose colour naturally varies with the melt. The glaze shows deeper blue tones where it pools into glass, and a soft satin yellow-green across lighter surfaces, where iron flecks in the clay body create a freckled effect. The tea bowl has a has a fluted pattern, allowing for the glaze to pool and break on the edges.
The mug is food and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its finish. Over time it may develop natural staining from beverages like tea or coffee. While durable, the edges can chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.
Each piece is unique, celebrating the charm of handmade ceramics. Slight variations may occur between pieces; each piece has been photographed individually on this shop.
