Wheel-thrown in a rich iron stoneware, this pot was reduction-fired for fourteen hours to 1290ºC in my self-built gas kiln. Its satin finish draws its character from the wood-ash glaze, whose colour naturally varies with the melt, showing deeper blue tones where the glaze pools into glass and a soft satin yellow-green across lighter surfaces.
The mug is food and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its finish. Over time it may develop natural staining from beverages like tea or coffee. While durable, the edges can chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.
Each piece is unique, celebrating the charm of handmade ceramics. Slight variations may occur between pieces; each piece has been photographed individually on this shop.
