Wheel thrown in white stoneware, this petaled tea bowl is reduction-fired for fourteen hours in my self-built gas kiln. The glaze uses wood ash which low iron traces gives off this naturally light blue colour which is enhanced by the contrasting red, iron-pigmented rim.
The tea bowl is food and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its finish. Over time it may develop natural staining from beverages like tea or coffee. While durable, the edges can chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.
Each piece is unique, celebrating the charm of handmade ceramics. Slight variations may occur between pieces; each piece has been photographed individually on this shop.
