Small Tea Bowl

£60.00
sold out

Dimensions: Approximately 8 cm (H) x 7.5 cm (W)
(Slight variations may occur between pieces, each piece has been photographed individually on this shop.)

Each piece is reduction-fired for twelve hours in a gas kiln that I built this year.

This handmade, wheel-thrown tea bowl with a petal rim shows a pale blue glaze, with its intensity subtly shifting based on the firing process. The blue tones are derived from naturally occurring iron in the clay used for the glaze, in this case, sourced from a construction site near London Fields.

The tea bowl is food and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its finish. Made with white stoneware clay and a satin glaze, the rim has been pigmented with red iron oxide wash. It may develop natural staining over time from beverages like tea or coffee. While durable, the edges can chip if handled roughly, so care is advised.

Each piece is unique, celebrating the charm of handmade ceramics.
